Local Natives returned to the stage last night for the first time in a year. They debuted five new songs off their upcoming album.

[...] Local Natives remain busy at work on Hummingbird, their highly anticipated sophomore follow-up to 2010′s critically-acclaimed, Gorilla Manor. Last night, however, they took a break to headline an exclusive and official CMJ showcase at New York’s Bowery Ballroom. Amidst a string of past favorites, the Silver Lake collective debuted a handful of new tracks off the forthcoming album: “Breaker”, “Bowery”, “Ceilings”, “Heavy Feet”, and “Columbia”.
