Picture this, soft white sand between your toes, the sound of waves crashing in the background while listening to bands like Umphrey’s Mcgee, My Morning Jacket, Portugal. The Man, and The Black Keys all weekend. We’re not sure what could be better than a music festival on the beach. They had two stages took on the physical beach, and also had a few stages on the boardwalk area including a kids stage. Considering this is Hangout’s second year, things went pretty smoothly all weekend.

Jake Snider of Minus The Bear- “How’s everyone doing on judgment day?”

Xavifer Rudd is an Austrailian native who is described as a “one man band.” While on stage he plays guitar, didgeridoo and various percussion parts played simultaneously. He utilizes a unique set-up that literally surrounds him with various instruments, while singing from behind the rig holding three didgeridoos of different keys. He was easily the best performance of the weekend.
Big Gigantic combines electronic music with live drums and saxophone. This Colorado duo was in South Florida not long ago, and unfortunately we missed them, but never again. Their one-of-a-kind sound of funk, jazz, and heavy base creates an unforgettable dance party.
