For the last couple of months, I’ve been in an Arcade Fire bubble with anticipation of their latest LP, The Suburbs. After seeing their breathtaking preformance at Lollapalooza last weekend, it has only increased my love tenfold for the Canadian group.
Most concert goers, want to hear the songs they know, not their latest album that dropped four days prior. That was not the case with Arcade’s fanbase. Everyone wanted to hear new ones, and Win Butler ( lead vocals), even thanked the crowd for singing every word to their new songs. I always wanted to know what that felt like. After putting your heart and soul into an album, then within days later of it’s release (it’s currently number 1 on Billboard) having 50k fans singing along, & holding on to your every note. If you missed the live stream from Madison Square Garden last week, directed by Terry Gilliam, you can watch below courtesy of American Express.
I know it’s long, but it’s fantastically done. Hats off to Terry!
